// systems engineer

Connecting data, learning and digital innovation.

I am a systems engineer who turns ideas into modern, efficient and scalable software. I work across web products, data, education and operations — always with the same aim: technology that creates real value.

// practice areas

Six ways of working, one standard of care.

01

Web Development

Production-grade websites and web apps: clear architecture, accessible interfaces, and a deployment path a team can actually own.

02

Data Analytics

Turn operational data into decisions: definitions, methods, visualisations and reports that a non-specialist can actually use.

03

Cybersecurity

Security as a design constraint: least privilege, careful data handling, and public surfaces that do not leak private records.

04

Cloud Solutions

Hosting, environments and preview workflows so production does not depend on a single laptop.

05

UI & UX Design

Interfaces designed from the content outward: type, hierarchy, a small palette, and interaction that respects the thumb.

Digital Solutions

The smallest software that removes the most friction: processes first, frameworks later.

// about

Data, education and technology

I am a systems engineer with a professional background that spans data analysis, education and digital product development. I combine analytical thinking, teaching experience and modern web engineering to turn information into decisions — and ideas into products people can actually use.

A practice built on two countries and one question: what should this system actually do?

From classrooms in Nicaragua to operations in Costa Rican real estate, my work has always sat at the intersection of people, process and software. That mix is now the core of how I design digital products.

// next

Build software that outlasts the brief.

The next decade of my work is focused on three fronts: resilient web products, applied intelligence, and digital transformation that respects the people who have to live with the system. I want to collaborate with teams — in Costa Rica and abroad — who care about craft, security and measurable outcomes.

Discuss a project

// method

Listen. Frame. Build. Refine.

  1. 01

    Listen

    Understand the operation, the people and the constraint before proposing a stack.

  2. 02

    Frame

    Turn the problem into a clear scope: users, flows, risks and a realistic path to launch.

  3. 03

    Build

    Design and implement with modern web technologies, security in mind and a maintainable architecture.

  4. 04

    Refine

    Measure, teach the team and keep improving after launch. Software is a relationship, not a delivery.

How people describe the work.

When Yerlin led statistics at the school, the reports finally answered the questions we actually asked in the Monday meeting. He would not publish a chart he could not defend.

María Elena Vargas

Academic coordinator, secondary education

In the warehouse and later in costs, he treated numbers as a system: reception, rotation, invoices, the budget. If a figure did not reconcile, he stayed until it did.

Carlos Méndez

Operations, real estate

He taught adults as if the software had to survive the class. No theatre, no leftover slides. People left able to open the tool on Monday.

Ana Lucía Herrera

Training coordinator, technical education

// engagements

Flexible solutions for every digital challenge.

Discovery

Conversation

For a first idea, a stuck process, or a site that no longer represents the work.

  • 45–60 minute working conversation
  • Written reading of the problem
  • Recommended scope and risks
  • In English or Spanish

Most requested

Product build

Custom scope

The core engagement: a complete digital product, from information architecture to a maintainable launch.

  • Discovery, information architecture and interface
  • Engineering with React and modern tooling
  • Content, accessibility and performance
  • Deployment, documentation and training
  • Security review in the architecture

Advisory

Retainer

Ongoing counsel for teams who already have a product and need a sharper technical and operational eye.

  • Monthly working sessions
  • Architecture and process review
  • Prioritisation and KPI design
  • Enablement for the people who run it
